• Hi

I have had a new and recent issue with Google Webmaster Tools that I hadn’t had before. (My site is 2+ years old and the sitemap tool has been fine)
(This happened after Google changed the algorithms for mobile and also since I made changes to my directory folders and resubmitted for new indexing)

When I did so on 4-5-2015, I got 1000+ errors – they are errors for urls that do not exist.
They do not exist because the urls are concatenated – for every single post and page on my site, an additional and separate url that belongs to only 2 pages (of well over 25 links – in the sidebar of my template) are being appended to those post and page urls

    Example ..
A bad link being kicked out is
    https://bcr8tive.com/monique-lhuillier-resort-2014/bcr8tive.com/privacy-policy

When the actual post url is https://bcr8tive.com/monique-lhuillier-resort-2014/
and the link from the sidebar is bcr8tive.com/privacy-policy

I have been working with a tech from Google trying to suss out how or why this is happening – we have since established that I have no scripting issues, it isn’t my site, or my server and it is only the mobile google bot finding or having the issue (I’m also seeing Yandex hit a few)

In any event, they want me to look for this:
    “grep privacy sitemap1 sitemap2 … sitemapN | grep -v http”

Which I cant do because of all of the subs. I can’t just search it.

Since there are so many sub site maps, I think I need to just delete the entire thing and rebuild it – but when I go into FTP – I cant even see my sitemap to delete it!

PLEASE TELL ME HOW I CAN CLEAN THIS UP. My rank with Google was great – I cant afford to have my whole site kicking out bad urls that are not any fault of mine – I NEED to rule out that the sitemap is part of the problem.

Especially since I made changes to my categories and cleaned up OLD posts and I do not know if those get updated in the sitemap.

    PLEASE HELP A.S.A.P.

    UPDATE:

The above issue was resolved, HOWEVER, I STILL cannot locate the sitemap via FTP – I cannot see it. I want to delete it and regenerate it. There are errors in it that Google is finding that I cannot correct. WHY can’t we see the file?

Please tell me how to locate the sitemap IN my file folders. How is it hidden?
