How can I create a custom meta box that displays specific taxonomy term feeds?

I’m trying to create a custom meta box that can display three of the most recent taxonomy term posts. I’d like to make it so all you have to do is enter in the taxonomy term by ID and be able to choose how many posts from that term gets displayed. I have to display these terms on various related pages in the sidebar. I’ll post code samples as when I get it close to completion or if any of you have done this before please feel free to share.
