    Hi there !

I will give you the solution on monday !

I’m sorry for late answer, I had to work the issue, and I have one or two things to fix before to give you the code that will do the work.

    Best regards,

    Pierre

    Hi Pierre,

I was wondering if you found a solution for this scenario? I would like to do the same thing.

    Thank you,
    Eric

    Hi Pierre,

Any thoughts on this cause I would love to do this as well.

Please Pierre – I need the exact same thing as those above!

I cloned democraciaenpractica.org/en to democraciaenpractica.org/beta and completely redid the site privately. Now I want /beta to replace the /en and go live with the changes. Help much appreciated!

    Hi.

We will try to release a multisite-change-primary plugin before the end of the week. (Then you will be able to 1. clone, 2. modify the clone, 3. set the clone as the new primary site)

I will post the link here as soon as we release it.

    Best regards,

    Pierre

Any progress on the multisite-change-primary plugin Pierre?

And what would happen if we simply swap around the Path endings in the Multisite ‘Sites’ panel – changing the path of the beta site to / and the path of the primary site to /beta?

Or if I simply Duplicate the /beta site to / ?

Any reason a special plugin is needed?

    Cheers,

    Adam

    Hi !

I just pushed an alpha version of the multisite-clone-duplicator plugin, with “clone-over-primary” function.

WARNING : If you want to test it, please BE AWARE :

    – This is a test version that could have some bug ; if you don’t know what you are doing, please don’t use it

    – Before cloning over the primary site, BE SURE YOU HAVE A FRESH BACKUP of your entire database and files, and that you know how to restore it in case of failure

You can download the test version of the plugin here :

    https://github.com/pierre-dargham/multisite-clone-duplicator/archive/clone-over-primary.zip

    Install instructions :

    1. Rename and copy the folder over your old “multisite-clone-duplicator” folder
    2. Create fresh backup of everything
    3. Go to this url of your site : wp-admin/network/sites.php?page=multisite-clone-duplicator-clone-over
    4. Clone over your primary site
    5. If it works : leave me a 5-stars rating :p
    6. If it failed, restore your backup and come back here, we will try to solve the problem

    Hi there !

Sorry for late answer, some wp projects for clients took all our time since november.

I’m just back on the multisite-clone-duplicator project and will try to go forward next week.

We’ll try to push v2.0 here on www.remarpro.com before the end of march.

    Bests regards,

    Pierre
