How can i change the theme?

  • I am new in the web development word and i just instaled wordpress locally. I want to change the theme and i can not, i have searched on google and I’ve seen that there should have been a button Add New, but is not there. I’ve moved the the new theme folder in wp-content\themes and no change. I am stuck with Twenty Sixteen.

    This is what i see no matter what i can think of doing.

  • Hello filimonviorelclaudiu,
    Its simple to change the theme on WordPress. Please follow this steps to change the theme.
    Go to dashboard > appearance > themes > Add New
    Search the theme there or upload the theme from local directory.
    Install and activate it.
    If you want to upload the theme locally, your theme file must be zip file.

    As your screenshot, the add new button is absent. It may be some conflicts of plugins too. Try once by uninstalling one by one plugin and try.

    Hi kafleg! Thank you for your time, I tried to do what you said but for whatever reason there were some errors too maybe because I tried to set up a WordPress multisite, so i reinstalled it again without the edits for multisite and now it works.
