How can I change the slider's colour font?

open style.css
and find

#slider .featured-title span {

change the color value to the one you want (#FFF stands for white)

I did what you suggested but nothing changed. I put:

#slider .featured-title span {
display: inline-block;
color: #D33;
font-size: 50px;
line-height: 35px;
font-weight: 300;
line-height: 1.5;

Any idea why?

You haven’t set a title for your slides, so that CSS code won’t apply to your site. You can set a title for your slides by going to Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > Homepage > Built-In Slider.
