    Hi,

How can I change folder permissions using WP File Manager?

I cannot seem to upload pictures on my website. I do not have access to this website’s host, and therefore it’s Cpanel or FTP Client, which is why I have downloaded WP File Manager.

When I try to upload an image the site gives me a message “Missing a Temporary Folder”. The Research I have done has told me to edit the wp-config.php file and then add a folder called “temp”. This was from this tutorial here. However, the problem still persists.

I am now trying to change my root folder permissions to 755, like it says in the next step. However, I can’t figure out how to change permissions through WP File Manager.

Can you help me figure this out? Thanks in advance!

Upon further investigation it looks like permissions functionality is in the Pro version. However, how can I tell if this is actually the problem? How can I tell what the permissions are set at currently?

I have been able to upload images in the past. It seems to come and go. How can I identify what the actual problem is?

    Thanks again,

    Hey @kwallindesigns,

Thanks for contacting our support. You can’t change file permissions from the WP file manager. You can do it from FTP or Cpanel.
