I have 20 websites and if I log into each I will be locked out of each.

How can I change allowed IP in Database by using phpmyadmin?

Hi @n2rga, thanks for your question.

It’s certainly not the usual procedure for an admin to just be default blocked when attempting to sign in every time on every site. IPs allowlisted in Wordfence can bypass ALL Wordfence protection, even if they’re reassigned to somebody else in future, which we don’t recommend. There could be a number of causes for what you’re experiencing here.

If your block is linked to your Brute Force settings, renaming the /wp-content/plugins/wordfence directory to wordfence.bak, logging in, then renaming the plugin back to its original name should let you loosen up the values.

IP detection being wrong is also a common reason, so a legitimately triggered block for another user/bot may now be affecting all visitors including yourself. Take note of your own IP on your main device: https://www.whatsmyip.org.

Once in (using the rename method above) head over to Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs and reference the area under that section that says Detected IPs and Your IP with this setting. See if any of the options there when picked accurately reflect your IP. If one does, don’t forget to hit the SAVE CHANGES button in the top-right after you’re done.

If it is a?Manual block by administrator, such as your IP falling into a range or specifically being an IP you’ve manually blocked, then installing the Wordfence Assistant plugin (after renaming the wordfence plugin folder) to “disable the firewall” could activate Wordfence to unblock yourself and fix whatever had locked you out. You should be able to find the reason for the immediate block from your Live Traffic feed.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
