Hi when an author writes a blog on my site he isn’t able to upload an image.
How can I give him permission?

I want him to be able to upload images, but not publish them until I edit them.

    Thanks

I believe you want them to have the Contributor User Level. You can change this in the admin panel, and specific instructions are given in the Codex link I just posted.

Im sorry, they ARE contributors now.
but when I make then authors they can then publish their work and I dont want. I want to edit their work before publishing.
Its liek I can have one or the other.

I looked at a solution for this but its confusing to me.
Does anyone have -specific- instructions on how ot allow a contributor to puload an image, or how to deny an author the right to publish their blog?

    thanks

I’m not sure I understand – Contributors can upload images, and they cannot publish their work.

Maybe I’m still not getting it..check out WP Role Manager, though, it’s a plugin that (I believe) allows you to assign custom roles.

Thanks! Downloaded it and checking it out now.
Are there directions on how to install it?
Theres nothing at all in the software, no instructions or readme file

I just installed it, and it looks like it’s very easy to use. You can modify existing roles by checking and unchecking their abilities and if you scroll to the bottom, you can add a new Role.

You access the options via Users>Roles from the main admin screen.

How do you install it please?
    Where do you upload it?

    thanks

Download the compressed file from the site, create a new directory on your desktop called “Role Manager”, and extract all the files there. Upload the “Role Manager” folder (and everything it contains) to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory using your FTP program of choice.

And then you just go to the Plugins section in the Admin CP and hit “Activate” next to the plugin name.
