The link above shows a list of towns where there will be upcoming events and I would like to add the date each event will be held in this town. I tried using #_EVENTDATES but it just shows the code rather than the date.

Can someone tell me how I can display the dates?

    Thanks much!

sorry for the confusion but on this link https://www.blackburncle.com/classes/locations/ are you using locations list shortcode or assigned it under events > settings > pages ?

“Location List/Archives”->”Locations Page” is set to “[No Locations page]” and shortcode from widget has been inserted into Locations page.

I just learned that my theme came with a widget called “Widget Shortcode” which automatically adds a shortcode to widgets so you can insert them in any page anywhere you want. Didn’t realize that functionality wasn’t built into the Event Locations widget.

Added note – as a test I temporarily disabled the “Widgets Shortcode” plugin and added the Events List widget to the top right menu widget area and the exact same content displays but just a different location. So my use of the plugin and inserting shortcode should not affect my original question.

you can try to use EM widgets instead or use text widget then use custom code or plugin to enable shortcode and use [locations_list]

I got it to work! Had to use an “Events Widget” instead of a “Events List” widget. That widget has a place to enter a category ID so I entered the category ID associated with one event at each location (otherwise the town would repeat 4 times since we have 4 courses at a location on a given date) and the HTML I entered in the widget is:

    • #_LOCATIONTOWN – #_LOCATIONADDRESS, #_LOCATIONPOSTCODE
    • And I’m getting exactly what I was looking for!

Thanks much for your help! Okay to close ticket
