Hi I’m using the Customizr theme and want to use the circles zoom feature.

I’ve drawn some stick-men as my featured images for the pages that I want to list. My stick-men are PNG files on transparent backgrounds 250x270px.

Sadly when they are displayed on the website the heads (or other vital bits of the images) get cut off the stick-men! I’d like to have them set up so that when one hovers over the zoom shows more but when one is not hovering… they still look ok! I can draw them to fit in a circle as long as I can work out how big a circle to draw for the “full view” and the “restricted view” of the image.

But sadly… I can’t work out how to calculate diameter of the circle in photoshop so that it will reveal just what is in the “un-zoomed” circle and what will be in the “zoomed” circle.

Can anyone explain this to me, please?

  • In a Photoshop document which is 270px wide x 250px high, place a 250px diameter circle or selection and centre it horizontally. That’s your expanded view on mouseover.

Then place a 175px diameter circle inside it, centred horizontally and vertically. That’s your standard view.
