Looking through the support threads and reviews here, it’s pretty apparent that this major update of the plugin isn’t going well at all. How about rolling it back to the previous version, and restarting your QA procedures?

Adding another voice to the conversation and a vote for a rollback to version 1 of the plugin. We, too, have had to disable the plugin completely, even after several rounds of tech support. Constant disconnections, failures to sync from WC > Square consistently and accurately, and loss of functionality such as being able to have a variable product where some variations are set to sync and some (virtual variations) are not, and making bulk inventory updates in WC.

Someone somewhere else mentioned that tech support had told them syncing with Square wouldn’t work properly if you didn’t use Square as the payment gateway, which is a deal-breaker for us, since we only want the plugin for syncing inventory, not payment processing on our WC site.

    elm- I agree.
I’m using PayPal/Stripe for payments on my website. PayPal is just necessary in my view and stripe lets me add Apple/Google Pay. I’m not using square online because it’s redundant.

For me- the square plugin was a good way to send my inventory to Square for face to face sales. I never used it for online payments. Maybe there should be two separate distinct functions. Sync and payments.

Me 3. I use Stripe/PayPal for payments, and Square for occasional POS with inventory syncing. I’m back on 1.0.38 and couldn’t be happier. Do your own due diligence, but I recommend doing the same. See my earlier post for the steps I took to backtrack.

My specific issues on 2.x are:

    – When importing products to woo, i set up Synced with square columns already but products wont be synced to Square unless update manually on each product.

    – could be related: when an order is cancelled on woo, inventory reverted on woo but not synced right away to square, after 1h Square synced automatically to woo again, inventory on both becoming wrong.

    – multiple attributes. We are using square plugin ok, i dont see why we have to change all of our products attributes because it will not sync on 2.x. Now we are using 1.0.38 instead.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone.
We released v2.0.6 and are continuing development work as fast as we can.

I still haven’t been able to get the form to show up at checkout to enter credit card details in any of the version 2 iterations. I read someone else’s support post about disabling features in Autoptimize which I also use but I’m not sure which ones to disable.

Plus I also had issues with syncing products.

It kept telling me that my background refresh was not working but after extensive time on support with my server and woocommerce, they confirmed that background app refresh was working just fine. Error message went away after reverting back to 1.0.38
