• Too much hype about this plugin by the author, hopefully well deserved… That said, does it have the ability to search through Custom Fields and furthermore, it it does, do you have the ability to choose which Custom Fields?

Hey thanks for checking the plugin out!

We haven’t really hyped the plugin at all, so I have to guess you’re referring to the description? The original plugin that we are trying to revive and give a future to is “Search Everything” and is where the hype for the usefulness of this plugin comes from.

Custom fields are searchable. There is currently no system in place for designating which fields should be searchable, however that’s an excellent idea for a future version.

Yes, I was referring to the description’s hype…

If it’s true about Custom Fields to be searchable, then this plugin is 90% there, and worthy of at least testing it out, and rating it accordingly.

Designating which custom fields to be searching is important, as sometimes those field can contain Admin notes and other confidential data, and other proprietary info. that should not be available for public consumption.

Thanks for the quick reply, looking forward in testing and rating this within a few hours…

Let me know if you find any issues! Right now most of the core functionality is a direct fork from the original, wrapped in an entirely new plugin structure to facilitate future growth.

To address your concerns regarding the custom fields, the plugin only alters the search parameters and not the output on the front end. So while the fields it searches are not yet configurable, it won’t expose your data to the world.
