• I have a menu used with avada theme. I have set normal state properties and hover/active state properties. It works perfectly in the backend. The site is a one page setup. So all the menu links are of the anchor variety with the url with the hashtag that scrolls to a part of the page (ie:…com/#link). When viewing the page, all the menu elements are already triggered as if in permanent hover state from the start. Hovering or clicking them does not alter the status. However, I’ve realized that if I put a menu item with a regular link that isn’t the same page or pointing to part of it, that item functions perfectly and loads it’s original state and reacts as expected when hovered. I’m really not sure if this is something based on the way anchor links work, css, WordPress, or even theme (although I really don’t think it’s theme). I can only think that maybe because the link is already on its destination page, maybe it thinks it’s active already?

It did not have anything to do with Avada. It was an anchor link /css issue. However, I have a resolution for anyone who comes across this issue. I was able to resolve the issue by switching the link to simply #xxxxxx Instead of the full url. Something to do with the full url version causing active state because it’s already on the page
