Hover on the right … action on the left

I’ve been looking for a plugin that would allow me to have a hot spot on the right side of my theme but the action would occur over on the left side (like in the slider area). Seems a bit “involved” but I can’t image I’m the only one that has wanted something like this. I’m afraid it may mean custom coding but I thought I’d try the forum as a last resort for something that even comes close. Thanks for any input. – Donnie
