Hours estimate for a "basic" WP web site
-
(Apologies if this is the wrong forum.)
I’ve created a couple test sites, just to get my feet wet and understand how WP does things. Now I have an opportunity to build a real site for a work client and I’m wondering how many hours to allot.
It’s a basic site (4 or so static pages) with a “members only” section consisting of another 6 pages or so. The client really just needs an online presence with a repository where members can retrieve documents (meeting minutes, &c.). The client owns a domain, and has basic hosting with 1and1.com.
Here are my estimates. Do these seem reasonable? Thanks in advance.
– – –
sketch and deliver wireframe (1 hr)
install WordPress CMS on existing 1and1.com host (1 hr)
launch and configure site in test mode (.5 hr)
create users (including c. 12 member accounts) (2 hrs)
select and install suitable theme and plugins (2 hrs)
create Google Analytics account (5. hr)
create c. 4 publicly-viewable web pages with content provided (1 hr)
create a members only area, with c. 6 pages (3 hrs)
final testing (1 hr)
move test site to live site and test (3 hrs)
train client in how to basic updates to site (1 hr)***TOTAL TIME = 16 hrs
