Okay now the link works, but….. In IE11 and Firefox the link brings the anchor to the bottom of the page. The highlighted hotpot is visible when you scroll up. Chrome seems to work properly.

After trying a few links I think that anchoring is a problem. It is either at the top or bottom of the page, which, depending on screen size, your hotspot may or may not be visible.

We’ll do some testing across different browsers, page lengths, and interactive images to see what we find. This solution is one step closer, but it sounds like there’s a little more to work through on this item

Hi Helen! We made linking directly to a hotspot better in 1.5.1. If you haven’t upgraded to that yet, please give it a try.

Depending on the location of the hotspot sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn’t. The link works, but the anchoring still seems to be an issue. My image is very vertical, so the hotspots at the bottom an top seem ok. But a hotspot in the middle is off the edge either at the top or the bottom. I tried this link:
    https://www.sawyerfreelibrary.org/map/first-floor/#hotspot-hotspot-5375-4
I tried in in IE11, Chrome, and Firefox and all of them had this problem.

BTW you can scroll down and the hotspot is highlighted, so it works. But without proper anchoring it is confusing.

Hi Helen! I see the issue – I set it up to scroll the image into view, but when you have a really big image larger than the viewport, then sometimes the hotspot is still off the screen. I’ll have to give this some thought – it’s a bit tricky to try and scroll to a hotspot directly rather than to the image itself.

I changed that url slightly to:
    https://www.sawyerfreelibrary.org/about-us/map/first-floor/#hotspot-hotspot-5375-4
    — Just in case you need to experiment with it

Hi Helen – 1.5.2 out today should make it so it scrolls so that the highlighted hotspot is in view always.

This works great! Thank you so much for all your attention.

Just a note on this — I have noticed that while the url works, in IE11 the anchoring can be funky. Sometimes it creates a view with the hotspot and sometimes it seems to anchor more at the top or bottom of the page. No rhyme or reason to it, either — the same url can anchor differently each time you try it. Chrome and Firefox have no problems, so I think it is just IE. This is not a plugin problem, I just thought I would send in my observations for any of the users to evaluate this feature.
