Hosting multiple domains and using wordpress on a secondary domain

I have 2 domains and both are hosted under 1 hosting account. Initially neither sites are operated using wordpress, but I have since changed the secondary website to use wordpress. The structure of the sites were something like this:

https://www.primarydomain.com
https://www.secondarydomain.com (but hosted at https://www.primarydomain.com/v)

I’ve installed wordpress at https://www.primarydomain.com/v/wp, but I can’t seem to find the correct combination of settings (both on the hosting side and on wordpress) to enable the site to run properly, since the secondary site is aliased under the primary domain.

What is the solution to this?
