• Why are the forums closed to discussion on hosting issues (eg. slowness), when a page linked to prominently from the toolbar directly implies that you can DISCUSS hosting here?

I was about to consider Bluehost based on the fact it was prominently featured alone. Thank goodness I saw some of these closed off forum posts first.

If those are paid placement ads on the hosting page, WordPress MUST disclose that — morally, and perhaps legally.

Regardless, it’s pathetic to close off topics because they discuss hosting issues when the page itself implies that’s what the forums are for. Maybe slowness is due to multiple plugin issues. Or maybe it’s that the servers are overwhelmed. Users won’t know until it’s discussed.

    Mods, change the rules.

And disclose if those are paid ads.

Why is it “pathetic” and which page are you referring to?

Threads about hosting get spammed by advertisers unless they are closed & www.remarpro.com forums are here to support products distributed on www.remarpro.com.

They are not paid ad placements. These are commercial companies who have supported WordPress over an extended period of time.
