Using v4.2.1 of AIO WP Security.
    PHP v5.4.45
    WP 4.6.1

I have WordFence and AIO WP Security installed.

I was informed by Hostgator today that they had quarantined a file containing malicious content. That file was /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/classes/wp-security-bot-protection.php

    Any idea what this is?

    “HostGator Security Department
    Quarantined files:
    /home/cnymike/public_html/sandbox/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/classes/wp-security-bot-protection.php”

Hi, there is nothing wrong with the file you mentioned above.

    wp-security-bot-protection.php

I think this is a case of false positive detection. I would say because of the word bot in the file name.

I also notice that the file was blocked in a /sandbox/ path. Are you doing some sort of sandbox testing for a shopping cart?

    hi @cnymike,
As @mbrsolution has already mentioned, that file is definitely not malicious.
If you wish, you can ask “Hostgator” what part of the content in that file they think is malicious and then report back here and I can double-check this for you.

I have a staging area where I design sites. No shopping cart. Just a staging area.

    Good Afternoon @cnymike,

My name is Jonathan and I’m part of our customer service team over at HostGator.com. I received notice of your post via Google Alerts this afternoon, and was sorry to hear our quarantining caused some inconvenience for you. To provide a bit of context, we recently began our quarantining service in order to prevent bigger issues for our customers, but admittedly we are still tweaking our scans to ensure false positives like this do not occur.

At this time we have removed the quarantine from the file you’ve mentioned and we have also begun the process of updating our scans to prevent other “All in One WP Security & Firewall” plugin users from experiencing this trouble.

We hope this has resolved the issue for you but if you would like to speak further, please feel free to reach out to me via [email protected] (Attention : Jonathan H.) and I’ll be glad to continue our conversation.
