    I just discovered that:

Your server is running PHP version 5.4.45 but WordPress 5.3.2 requires at least 5.6.20.

According to Hostgator, they are still on PHP 5.4 on shared servers and there is nothing that can be done about it. They will be updating PHP “soon” but could not tell me what that meant exactly.

So, the cron job cannot be run on Hostgator. Incredibly frustrating. I ran the cron.php file manually instead but I still have this error:

cURL error 51: SSL: certificate subject name ‘www.some-strange-domain.top’ does not match target host name ‘mydomain.com’

For some reason there is something wrong with the certificate but I can’t figure out what. Some domain I don’t recognize is coming up as the certificate domain, rather than my domain.
