Install the plugin “add from server”. it will add the manually uploaded file to the media library.

Downloaded the plugin, but being new to this I cannot figure out how to get it loaded.

You can add plugins from Plugins > Add New in your Dashboard, and you’ll activate the plugin once installed from the Plugins section.
