• Hi,
    I have a Mid Linux package at Supanames.com.
    I’ve installed wp2.3 – all’s good
    Site: https://ageeksjourney.com/

    Next I tried to install Spam Karma 2 and Google XML sitemap plugins. No go, here’s one of the error msgs:

    ===========================================
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 184320
    bytes) in /wp-content/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap.php on
    line 2934
    ===========================================

    Memory allocation for php is currently 12mb is this
    enough? Supaname’s only advise is to upgrade to a package that is more than twice the cost so that they can raise mem allocation to 19mb.

    BTW, I am running other plugins, so it’s not a total waste of space. Any suggestions would be appreciated…. thanks

  • Your host is lying to you about the 12mb. You can see that here.
    Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted

    Are you sure it is set to 12MB?

    Ha! you guys noticed that too, I did a phpinfo() and it clearly states 8mb! I’ve already emailed them and waiting to see their reply.

    In the meantime does anyone know what size of mem allocation these plugins need?

    It usually depends on the size of your blog. Ex. the more posts you have the bigger the sitemap the more memory it will consume creating it.

    Update:
    Well, they upped it to 12mb and I have been able to activate the google sitemap plugin. Haven’t tried Spam Karma yet, busy with other stuff.
