Host configured integration vs Plugin

  • Hi,

    Can you provide a comparative list of what features are provided for Cloudflare free accounts when configured via webhost Vs. Cloudflare.com free account using plugin?

    My host has very limited Cloudflare settings, such as Enable, SSL, & Security level…that’s it!

    I cannot help but to think not all features are being being enabled on the server side. Just a few examples to throw out there.

    Is HTTP/2 being leveraged?

    Is the “One-click WordPress-optimized settings” being applied?

    How about Rocket Loader?

    Auto minify?

    My gut tells me this flavor of Cloudflare primarily benefits the host provider by offering a layer of DDoS protection, but it does not appear to leverage the other free optimization features that will noticeably improve performance.

    My site showed no improvement enabling the Cloudflare service when testing Gtmetrix.com.

    Webhost = Hostinger

    Am I missing something, or would we benefit more with the free Cloudflare.com account with plugin configuration?
