Do not use if you have multi-site!!!

  • I attempted to use this plugin to backup my medium sized wordpress multisite installation and during the DB Optimize process, the entire website stopped responding and was showing database connection errors. Upon investigation, I found that there were about 30% of my 488 tables “In Use” according to phpmyadmin.

    After much research, I found that I was able to manually (via SSH) use myisamchk to force the table back into operation.

    If you are encountering this problem, use the short tutorial found here (it’s the one that I used)

    My wordpress install is now functional and I will gladly be putting up an unfriendly review of this awful plugin wherever seems fit.. Thanks for nothing BackWPUp!

    @dexters Lab, thanks a lot for the notification and we will investigate the problem.

    Just for a general information: Reason why we weren’t able to give any support for the FREE users where just the tremendous effort of support we had to give to our PRO users. We added two new team members to the support, on our cost now, just to serve the FREE users. I hope this will be appreciated and free users understand, that a response time will be up to a week for free users, we`ll try to be faster. PRO users still get a response within 24 hours.
