    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

Your table uses the #colspan# keyword to merge/combine cells.

This unfortunately means that the features for site visitors, like sorting, filtering, pagination, but also the horizontal scrolling can not be used with this table (until you remove all these #colspan# keywords).

Another option however would be the use the TablePress premium versions. These come with the Responsive Tables feature module which contains a different implementation of Horizontal Scrolling, which will work with this table. (It doesn’t use JavaScript and is therefore more flexible.)

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    OK, thanks
So if I remove the #colspan# the scroll will work? how do I remove it?
just delete the word and enter other word?
Will the pro version works with the #colspan# ?

    Hi,

Yes, just remove it and leave the cell empty or put in other text. The visitor features (if enabled) will then work, including the horizontal scrolling.

WIth the Pro version, you can use horizontal scrolling also in tables that have #colspan# (but also not sorting, search, pagination, …).

I create new table and want to know if #rowspan# will work and I can use the horizontal scrolling?

    Hi,

yes, with the TablePress premium versions, the “Scroll” mode of the Responsive Tables feature module also fully support tables with #rowspan#.

OK, thanks. so the free version not support #rowspan# for Responsive Tables

    Hi,

correct, it’s the same issue as with #colspan#: This creates merged/combined cells, which will mean that the “Table Features for Site Visitors” (including the “Horizontal Scrolling” checkbox) can not be used. The TablePress premium versions have a different approach for adding the horizontal scrolling though.

OK, I create new tables without the use of #rowspan# and #colspan#

but I still don’t see the ?horizontal scrolling, what is wrong with the settings?

    Hi,

this is working fine for me. Make sure to test e.g. in a “private”/”incognito” browsing tab, to rule out caching. And of course you will need to test on a small screen or reduce the browser window width.

    Tobias

    Hi!

I found this through Google as I have the same issue on https://www.rolstoeldansen.nl/wedstrijdkalender/.

I’m not using #colspan so I have no clue what the issue is?

    can you help me?

    Hi @menno80,

Can you please check if the “Enable Visitor features” checkbox is activated on the table’s “Edit” screen, and if you are actually seeing the [table id=1 /] Shortcode when editing this page (and not e.g. the rendered HTML code)? Somehow the TablePress JavaScript file that initiates the scroll feature is not being loaded here…

    Regards,
    Tobias

    hi @tobiasbg !

the enable visitor feature was the cause. Thanks!

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress in the plugin directory. Thanks!
