The horizontal menu in the GivingPress Lite theme already operates similarly to the examples provided. You will need to create sub-menu items using the custom menus in WordPress under Appearance > Menus in order to create drop down menus.
The menu can be aligned differently within the theme options under Appearance > Customize > Site Identity > Logo Alignment. Choosing the “center” alignment option will result in the navigation menu displaying on its own row, with the logo above the menu.
Beyond that, if you wish to change the visual appearance of the menu with a background color and other design changes, that will require custom CSS styling. Unfortunately, we do not provide aesthetic style customization for our free theme. This is something you would need to style yourself, or employ the services of a designer.
