Horizontal Ellipsis Transform

  • A … in any post should be converted to … (when used in the middle of a sentence), and a …. (to end a setence) should be converted to …. (including the closing period).
    Also, it seems that the calendar still uses the entity code instead of numeric for ISO characters. The enitity codes (i.e. using letters, like … for ellipsis) have trouble in RSS feeds, so we should be using the numeric codes in our posts already. We should be consistent across all aspects of the site.

  • Actually, you don’t necessarily need a closing period. It’s a toss-up, but the Typographic style handbook tells you it doesn’t matter, and besides, 3 dots is the “standard” look everyone uses.

    Clarification: when I say “three dots” i mean, just one ellipsis. Not an ellipsis + another period
