Hootsuite won’t accept RSS feed from WordPress because its missing date stamp

  • I’m interested in automating my self hosted blog to publish updates to my social networks with Hootsuite. To do this i want to feed the RSS feed from my blog site to Hootsuite. Hootsuite produces an error message that says it can not accept my WordPress RSS Feed because it is missing a date stamp.

    How do I configure my RSS feed to send the date stamp?

    or better yet…

    How can I get my feed to work with Hootsuite?

    What is the rss feed url you are providing to Hootsuite?

    I would think that should work. Looking at the XML it shows you have the date for each post. Example: “<pubDate>Fri, 22 Oct 2010 21:23:48 +0000</pubDate>”

    You may want to check with Hootsuite for support. Not really sure why they would not accept that? Wish I could be of more help.

    I tried using the link recommended by idxcentral and it didn’t work.

    Hootsuite support said they don’t support help with it either. Too bad — I was really starting to like Hootsuite.
