    hi,

in the last few days hootsuite stopped functioning with webp images (using performance webp plugin from wp). the files in the medialibrary are tripling with names like wp-to-social-pro-270470-converted-5f1aa253dd.jpg-jpeg.webp and the log shows error:

Hootsuite API Error: #200: Picture upload failed: invalid PhotoExtension for filename: 'wp-to-social-pro-270470-converted-5f1aa253dd.jpg-jpeg.webp'. Ensure your web host, firewall and any WAF Plugins are not preventing Hootsuite from accessing this image.

but nothing changed there; is there something going on?

Hootsuite has never supported webp images, which is why the Plugin rightly converts any uploaded webp images to JPEG, so they’ll be included in the status:
    https://www.wpzinc.com/documentation/wordpress-to-hootsuite-pro/featured-image-settings/#webp-image-support

If you’re using a Plugin to convert uploaded JPEG (or other format) images to webp, it’s likely that process happens too late for our Plugin to then create a temporary JPEG copy for sharing to Hootsuite.

Nothing has changed in this Plugin’s code, noting its last release date. You’d therefore want to check if there’s been an update to the performance webp plugin in the first instance, or ensure it doesn’t try to convert the temporary JPEG files created by this Plugin.
