Just found out this only occurs when there’s no white space between the honeypot and the submit button.

I assume this is because of the implementation of wpcf7_autop which is trying to replace line breaks with paragraph tags:

You can try to disable via wpcf7_autop_or_not filter:

Yes, you’re right! And when removing the white space between all fields, whole form is wrapped in a single p tag. Check my temp form.

Guess more users (accidentally) do this, so IMO this is something that should be fixed. Or is this the way how it should work according to developer?

but this would be something for CF7 itself, or not? I’m afraid this could be something that is the way WordPress and Shortcodes (and autop) is working.

You can try to open a GitHub issue for CF7, because I think if this would be fixed then in CF7 and not in this honeypot addon.

Thanks @zodiac1978 for addressing this, and yep, that’s exactly right – all fields in a CF7 form are run through the autop filter and get wrapped in P tags if they are on a new line in the form editor. @guido07111975 the easiest way to solve this is to just do as you did, remove the whitespace between the honeypot field and another field (like the submit)
