Homepage won’t load, downloads wp-blog-header.php file instead

Installed plugin yesterday, today dashboard and homepage won’t load and downloads php file that loads theme instead.
Deleted plugin and cache folder. Changed PHP version and put back original htaccess file. Dashboard and individual posts load now. Homepage & taxonomies only load if I am logged in.
The file it tries to download is “application/x-httpd-ea-php56 (418 bytes)”
Is there anything else I can do?
