Homepage template not full width

    In the demo for Boutique, the home page template is shown as full width for the initial text and featured products. In my install (all latest versions) the sidebar is shown next to the homepage text, and the featured items are simply missing. The page is definitely using the Homepage template, although I tested the full width template too, just in case.

    I’ve also tried with and without the homepage control plugin, which the theme apparently ignores completely!

    Can you help, please?

    Looks like you’re not using the Homepage template.

    Hi James,

    I just checked, and the page template is definitely set to “Homepage” on the “Edit page” screen. I also tried “Full width”, but it made no difference.

    Is there anything that could override this setting?

    I’ve made a revision to the text on the homepage and ensured that the Homepage template was selected, as I’d noticed that changing the template wasn’t affecting the revision number of the page.

    However, the result is the same – no full width output!

    Are there maybe any plugins that can mess this up?

    Hi James,

    I’ve disabled all plugins apart from WooCommerce, yet the page is still not showing as full-width.

    Any ideas please?

    Hey,

    That’s definitely not the homepage template. I’m afraid that without an admin log in I can’t really inspect or advise further.

    My only guess is that you’ve set the shop page as the homepage, but set the shop page to have the homepage template. That wont work as page templates cannot be applied to the shop page. Instead you’ll have to create a new page, give that the homepage template and then set it as your homepage in the reading settings.

    That was exactly what I’d done! I know have a separate home page (using the Homepage template) and shop page, and everything is working as designed.
