Homepage shows “Future home of…” instead of designated page

    This morning my website homepage is no longer showing the page I have designated as the homepage in my WordPress settings. It instead shows a page with the title “Maintenance” and the page contents say: “Future home of something quite cool. If you’re the site owner, log in to launch this site. If you are a visitor, check back soon.”

    All the other pages of my website load and I can access my WordPress settings. It’s just the homepage that is having an issue.

    I changed my theme to a different theme, and the issue persists, so I believe the issue is coming from WordPress, not from my theme.

    I checked the homepage settings in WordPress and they are set correctly. I tried changing them and then changing them back, but the issue persists. I tried designating a different page as my homepage – a page that loads currently – and once I made that page the homepage, the issue persisted and that page no longer loaded when typing in its exact URL.
