Homepage shows fine but its working file is missing

    When I visit my site, the homepage shows up exactly how I created it. But when I go to make changes to the homepage, the page that is listed as my homepage is totally different. It’s like the working file for my homepage is gone. Can’t find it in the trash. I did change my domain name recently, but it changed all the permalinks accordingly. Before I go to the hassle of re-creating my homepage, I thought I would ask for help because it’s strange that the homepage is displaying correctly…I just can’t find the original file.

    I figured out what was wrong. The theme that I was using at the time(First Mag Pro, I’ve since changed themes) made it so that the homepage was created as a widget. I had forgotten this, so when I tried to update an actual page that I had assigned as my homepage, it wouldn’t do anything because my homepage was actually a widget in the widgets area. Live and learn.
