Homepage redirect issue
-
Hi,
I am in the process of building a website with UM. Everything is working fine, except one thing:
As soons as I activate Ultimate Member, the homepage becomes completely unreachable. Error: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTSMy settings:
– All UM pages are set to different pages, and none to the homepage (except “Members”, but I’m not using that page).
– The Default Login form has the redirection set to “Default”.
– The subscriber role has access to the homepage, and login redirect is set to custom URL: the homepage.
– The subscriber logout redirect is set to the homepage. But when I log in or out, the page cannot be loaded.
In fact, the homepage cannot be loaded at all, not even directly.
What I’ve done to troubleshoot:
– removed all other plugins.
– switched to default 2022 theme.
– tested with Firefox, Chrome and Edge.
– All with the same results. The problem disappears immediately after I disable the UM plugin.
– When I switch the subscriber login redirect to “Refresh the active page”, I am redirected properly. But the homepage still does not work.
– I also tested the same process with an admin account, and then I am redirected properly to WP-admin dashboard. But the homepage still does not work.I’m convinced it is a setting somewhere, because up until today, the homepage was loading fine. This morning I noticed that when I tried to edit and save the Logout page (as administrator), I was logged out. I added the code snippet to my functions.php I found on this link here. That seemed to fix that problem.
After that I upgraded to WP 6.0 (and I have since reverted to 5.9.3 to make sure that was not the cause).
After that I started testing with a normal subscriber, and the homepage would not work anymore.
Can you help me get this sorted? I can do a full restore as a last resort, but I would rather understand what is causing this.
