    Hi,
I am in the process of building a website with UM. Everything is working fine, except one thing:
As soons as I activate Ultimate Member, the homepage becomes completely unreachable. Error: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS

    My settings:
    – All UM pages are set to different pages, and none to the homepage (except “Members”, but I’m not using that page).
    – The Default Login form has the redirection set to “Default”.
    – The subscriber role has access to the homepage, and login redirect is set to custom URL: the homepage.
    – The subscriber logout redirect is set to the homepage.

But when I log in or out, the page cannot be loaded.

In fact, the homepage cannot be loaded at all, not even directly.

    What I’ve done to troubleshoot:
    – removed all other plugins.
    – switched to default 2022 theme.
    – tested with Firefox, Chrome and Edge.
    – All with the same results. The problem disappears immediately after I disable the UM plugin.
    – When I switch the subscriber login redirect to “Refresh the active page”, I am redirected properly. But the homepage still does not work.
    – I also tested the same process with an admin account, and then I am redirected properly to WP-admin dashboard. But the homepage still does not work.

I’m convinced it is a setting somewhere, because up until today, the homepage was loading fine. This morning I noticed that when I tried to edit and save the Logout page (as administrator), I was logged out. I added the code snippet to my functions.php I found on this link here. That seemed to fix that problem.

After that I upgraded to WP 6.0 (and I have since reverted to 5.9.3 to make sure that was not the cause).

After that I started testing with a normal subscriber, and the homepage would not work anymore.

Can you help me get this sorted? I can do a full restore as a last resort, but I would rather understand what is causing this.

    Hello @ispacecrusader

Do you have a content restriction setup for the homepage? Can please share screenshots for wp-admin > Settings > General > Pages and content restriction area of homepage?

You can use imgur.com to share screenshots here.

    Hi,
thank you for looking into this!

No, there is no content restriction active on the homepage as a whole. But there are a few gutenberg blocks on the homepage that are only available to logged in users.

I’ve posted some screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/RKWIXAQ

To be clear, “Welkom” is the title of the homepage.

    Hi Aswin,
have you been able to look at my issue? The website is supposed to go live pretty soon, I need to get this fixed.
    Thanks!

Install this plugin and get a trace log of your redirects:

    Thank you @missveronicatv ,
I’ve installed the plugin and added the shortcode to the homepage. I added all of the existing user id’s and set the redirect log limit to 30.

When I refresh the homepage now, I do not see any log. I just get an error the the page isn’t redirecting properly (logged in on firefox) or I get the error “too many redirects” in chrome (not logged in).

I decided to completely remove the UM plugin, including all of the settings, and re-install it. Now it’s working properly again. I have no idea what the cause was, but it’s resolved now. Thank you both for your help @missveronicatv @aswingiri
