Homepage problems after update

After the WP update, my static homepage was displaying a fatal error message instead of my custom content. I updated the theme and that seemed to fix how things were displaying, but when I went to edit the homepage all there is the place-filler text and images from the Hestia theme.

I just checked my site by using an Incognito window, and it’s now displaying the Hestia “About” info instead of my homepage. Did I just lose everything, or can I get it back, and how?
