Homepage Posts Won't Stay at Max of 5 as set

    I am getting horribly slow page speeds for this site (especially mobile). It is displaying all the posts on the homepage even though I have the

    Dash > reading > Show 5 posts

    Show summary

    Yet it still shows all full posts. I also have the

    Customize > Content Options > Use entry excerpts instead of full text on site home.
