Hi, I upgraded to 3.0.1 and since havent been able to view the latest posts on my homepage, I also tried making the last post on the homepage a draft but it is still appearing. so i seems as though the homepage is now a static page as no of the change i make in the admin are appearing on the site.

when i publish a new post in latest news it should appear on the homepage as well as the latest news section. it appears in the latest news but no sign of it on the homepage!

    anyone with a solution?

do you have a caching plugin?

or it could be a local cache at your end.

I have wp-super cache, i tried deleting the cache etc but woth no joy the site is downnews.co.uk u will see that the posts in latest news that have been posted since the 9th have been going into the latest news category ok but wont appear on homepage, i also tried to make the Down Community Health Committee story a draft but it still appears on the homepage. weird! i aslo noticed that the page title on the homepage is wrong it should not say “news in brief” as this is just the name of a small category.

are you excluding any categories from the listing on the front page? Can you recall any changes you made on the 9th?

I am but not the latest news cat, i think i updated to 3.0.1 on the 9th but i have reverted back to 3.0 about half an hour ago. it looks like the page is showing up a cached version of itself as i updated the formatting.php to show … instead of the …read more i had after the except but it is still showing …read more.

how many posts since Seals Suffer Unnatural Deaths In County Down have you made? is it just the one or is there more?

I don’t think changing from 3.0 to 3.0.1 would have affected things 9and I certainly suggest you go back to 3.0.1).

But if as you say the changes you made to the read more aren’t reflected then it certainly looks like a cache issue.

yeah just the one at the minute but i made a few test posts and published them and they never appeared on the homepage either. i tried deleting the cache on wp-super cahe, turning it half on, clearing cache in safari and using different computers etc…

well as you have wp super cache, I’ll tag this for Donncha to see, maybe he has an idea as to what is happening.

    ok cheers.

Hi, I think I am having the same problem. I am kind of new to wordpress, so please bear with me. My website is https://www.easyarticlemarketingtips.com

I just made my first post, and it is not on the home page. Instead, it is here:

    https://easyarticlemarketingtips.com/?p=1

I do not want to make my first post a static page. But how come it does not post on the home page, as it is my first post?

I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

rolough, down_news – please load the plugin settings page and enable the debugging system. Publish a post and see what the debug system returns. You should probably log to a file and limit it to your IP address..

Donncha, I think i have done what you said but i still have no idead what im looking for or why this problem may be happening? would it be easier if i sent you my login details to have a look?

I also tried to change the theme to the default one but it never worked either.

I’m getting this error quite a bit as of late too. If you need me to do a debug, since it seems no one has gotten back to you, let me know.

I tried to capture a debug session but not only did I not get an e-mail but no file was written.

Ok did some testing and noticed that the home page cache file was not being updated for whatever reason. An old version of the cached homepage was present on the webserver, but any attempts to garbage collect or refresh the file didn’t update said homepage file.
