If it has a plus sign, it means the page has not been translated yet into another language.
If it’s a pen sign, the page has been translated and you can start editing it. Our theme does support Polylang but it would be best if you know how to use the plugin so it would be easier for you to translate the theme. Kindly check their documentation below:

your link for Polylang is a old version, it’s not helpful for the new version today.
As you said the sign “Pen” means the page has been translated:

you can see the French version Accueil ( Homepage in English ) has a Pen,
but I clicked “View”, to see this page Accueil:

You can find our documentation that describes the steps needed to translate your site with Polylang here. If you encounter any issues in the process, we would suggest addressing them to the plugin authors since they should be the best able to help you.
