Working with a custom block theme which is translated into two languages, A and B, I am encountering the problem that the frontpage (which is having two different templates) is pulling only the template header in language A, even when switching the language. On any other subpage the correct header is showing, i.e. Header A for language A and Header B for language B.

What could be the issue that the header is not switching to the correct language on the frontpage?

    Thanks for any insight?

    UPDATE:
What I actually figured out is that the frontpage is not taking the assigned template. On any other page I can assign a different template for language A and language B and it is working fine, but the frontpage is pulling automatically the standard page template.

If I go to Settings > Readings and try to set a different page as the front page it does not apply the change after saving, but always jumps back. If I disable Polylang it is working fine.

Solved. I first had to create a home.html file in the templates folder of the Editor and could then assign language A and language B a respective template.
