Homepage Hangs – but only on some machines

  • I hope someone can help me here.
    My homepage is now hanging on some machines but not on others.

    I’m currently sitting at a machine with IE6 and it hangs on this. (however it used to work on this machine)
    At home I have IE7 and it’s fine on that.
    It also appears to work with firefox.

    I’m wondering if there is something embedded that all of a sudden has stopped it from working.
    Has anyone experienced anything similar recently?

  • could you post a screenshot? I have IE 7.0 here.

    same thing started with my site a couple hours ago. in ie6 it hangs and there is a major lag time if it fully displays at all but in ie7 and firefox its fine.

    Eariler I embedded a couple redlasso clips and that’s when it started having issues. I deleted that post completely and sadly I’m still having issues. It was 100% fine and fast before I posted those cursed redlassos. Could there be something else on the page holding it up as well? Honestly, it was fine before that post.

    that happens because IE 6.0 does not act like other browsers do, IE 6.0 has been criticised since forever for its way of interpreting HTML and CSS. This “Hanging” error probably is something on your Theme’s CSS.

    If you guys could post a ScreenShot of your websites shown on IE 6.0 I could take a look for both of you, and who knows fix it.

    I finally figured it. It seems like it was the tag cloud that is offered in the K2 theme.
    I removed that, gave it a minute or two and it finally worked.
