Homepage Filter menu to select categories and lead to selected posts/pages

Greetings dear friends,

I have a question/inquiry regarding wordpress plugins and themes.
I need a menu-filter on my homepage that would allow me to select categories and then could generate a gallery-grid type list of portfolio items.

There is a men in the middle of the screen. First selection allows you to select categories of posts/pages, in this case courses, sports, cafes and etc.

The second option allows users to select location – which also is a category per se.

My question is if there is a plugin/theme that would support such functionality? I would like to create many pages/posts, assign categories to them and see them listed in a grid.
