    Oliver,
In customiser, I can set the Home page to be a post page or a static and post page.
Thinking about it this is probably the part of the customiser which came from the original theme builders but bear with me.

It would be nice if your options could be tagged one way or another so that people don’t waste your time for the code which is not yours ??

My intention was to have my homepage containing a mix of page and post stuff and I achieved it using the block editor, 2 column layout and having inserted ‘Latest posts’ block in the 2nd column.

I’d have liked the ‘Latest post’ block to come up with the featured image of the post, if it has any – just to make the page more interesting to look at.

    Regards
    Christopher

    Hi Christopher,

Our option headings have a Gerbera flower symbol next to them in the customiser.

If you want your home page to contain the content you describe then you need to make use of the Front Page Panels, using a static page. Set a different page to be your blog page and set one of the front page panels to be this blog page in “Customiser – Theme Options – Front Page Section Content”.

There is then an option for featured images to appear in the blog page on a front page section using “Customiser – Theme Options – Blog Featured Images”.

Hopefully this is what you are looking to achieve.

    Oliver,
    not to worry.
I did it with Advanced Gutenberg plugin.
The problem with front page sections are that they are only below the page’s main content which means user has to scroll down to see if there is anything new – not good.

OK, well in that situation I would have no content on the homepage “page” and move your content to a section (using a separate page) below your blog page section.

    But glad you sorted it.

    Oliver
