home_url() not working with domain-based language switching

This is not possible for us to filter home_url() in plugins as we do for themes because this would break too many plugins (a lot are using the function to get the home url outside the frontend context). So we unfortunately must do it on a case by case basis.

This is a bit tricky but we have this filter to allow you to control in which file or function home_url() should be filtered: https://github.com/polylang/polylang/blob/3.0-rc1/frontend/frontend-filters-links.php#L277-L295. Here is an example of usage with Yoast SEO https://github.com/polylang/polylang/blob/3.0-rc1/integrations/wpseo/wpseo.php#L286-L288 (the whole plugin is whitelisted as it always uses the function in a frontend context).
