Home page title not showing properly in search engines

  • For some strange reason, my site title is showing only as “blog” in google’s search results, and “Hire me for graphic design..” in Yahoo. Obviously this is horrible for SEO and not what I want my site title displaying.

    Can anyone tell me why this may be happening and how I can fix this? I should note that I already have my site title field in the wordpress settings changed to my desired title.

    I should also note that I am using the popular SEO plugin “Platinum SEO”, so this may have something to do with the problem I’m having. Although I have used the plugin before and had no problems. The strange thing is that all of my blog post titles are showing properly in the search engines. It’s only my site’s main index page.

    Very frustrating. Especially since it’s difficult to troubleshoot (have to wait for spiders to pick up site changes).

    Inspired2Write: yes, same host, and I don’t believe any settings have changed. It has something to do with the “wordpress loop” according to that link I posted above. I just don’t know how to make the changes that they recommend. Oh well.

    I have the same problem that needforname.

    I start using SEO platinium, all metatag as description work well except title tag.

    I also use a static home page.

    Do somebody finally have a solution?

    Yeah, it’s a problem with my wordpress theme. The author is supposedly fixing the problem. I had to disable “Platinum SEO” and install “All in One SEO”. Fixed the problem, but I liked Platinum SEO better.

    I now use all in one SEO also but i have the same problem.

    When i look into the code, the PHP get() function is the same than default, i don’t know if it exists any overide option to call the custom title tags. No idea why the description taq work differently.

    Have you found a solution?
