Home page on Pilot Fish

  • Hi ??

    I am new to WordPress and trying to set up my first site. I am using the theme Pilot Fish, which I think is great, but I am trying to remove the ‘Home’ page from the menu bar. I have looked at various derivations of how to remove a ‘Home’ page from the menu bar on WordPress, but I haven’t managed to remove it. Could someone please help me to work out how to remove this? I understand that I may need to remove some lines from the code, but I can’t seem to work out which part!

    Danni,

    the home featured images (previously “think/design/develop”) still disappear when you apply a change that is not directly into the code to them.

    When I add a text widget to the “featured one”, “featured two” or “featured three” widget areas, is when that happens.

    Previously, the images dissapearing happenned when we tried changing the picture image (and uploading different images instead).

    One one hand, I do not think you should keep changing the template to attend our will ?? but fixing those glitches is all for the best.

    Hi there,

    I am using your template as well. Works like a charm ??

    I wanted to edit the images in the sidebar-footer as well and tried to upload them manually through ftp. Now I have a problem with that, somehome the chmod for the directory is 755 and I can not change it to 777 to be able to upload. Any thoughts?

    Second question:
    I would like to use two buttons in the bottom rather then 3. I can remove one, but now there is a ‘gap’ on the right side. How do I change this so both buttons are equal in width and extend through the entire width of the center area.

    @eutrapelico, you seem to have the same problem as I have. I changed the images and text and now the three features are gone. It seems a cannot restore anything that I’ve changed.

    But still I cannot seem to find a solution to this problem.

    So Danni, or anybody else, how can you fix the three features below and change them in what you want?

    Hi, I am looking for a way to divide my portfolio.
    For example, I’d like a line called “exhibitions” with a portfolio related only to exhibitions ; another line “concerts” with a portfolio dedicated to concerts only ; etc.

    Is it possible to do that? We can sort the projects into categories called “skills”, so is there a way to show only one category/skill of projects?

    I am at a complete loss with this theme.

    I am a true beginner when it comes to wordpress and all I’m trying to do is create a site dedicated to me and my girlfriends travelling addiction.

    my problems are as followed.

    the home page:

    I want to remover the widget area at the bottom
    I also want to change the picture of the tree’s to my own picture.

    Blog page:

    I want to create a blog page but have no idea how to do so!? (please help)

    about page:

    the about page is straight forward I can crate that but its just the other 2 pages… its very simple what i want but so damn frustrating! ?? any help would be massively appreciated!
