    I am working on a WP site. But I can’t figure this out, I tried a few things (permalinks, general settings) and nothing works. If I visit the site through my WP dashboard ‘visit site’ link:
    https://5ea.c5f.myftpupload.com/

    I get a ‘page not found’ error.

    But I can get to the home page of the site when i hit the ‘Tom’s Car Care Center’ link (entitled Tom’s Car Care Center), and it goes to the proper home page at:
    https://5ea.c5f.myftpupload.com/toms-car-care-center/

    I would prefer to name this page home or index, but when I rename it, WP automatically adds ‘home’ or ‘index’ twice to the url. I am stumped. Any ideas?

  • More of a workaround than a fix. Make a file called index.php with this in it:

    <?php
    header("Location: https://5ea.c5f.myftpupload.com/toms-car-care-center/");

    Hi Lorro,
    I tried to do this. I already had an index.php in the root, so I added this line at the bottom, but I was unable to edit this file. I tried to change the permissions, but it still won’t allow me to edit the file. I changed the FTP permission of this file to 666. Should it be something else?

    thanks!

    Does anyone have any idea on this? I really need some help, I am stumped…

    Again, when I go to look at the site at: https://5ea.c5f.myftpupload.com/
    it says “Nothing Found”. But if you click the ‘Tom’s Care Center’ link, which is the home page link, it opens fine. I tried a number of different permatlins but nothing is working right ( one change works, and then all the other pages don’t work). It makes me nervous for the site to go live and it doesn’t open on the launch – which they are ready to do!

    Any help is really appreciated!

    I’ve given up with 5ea.c5f.myftpupload.com as it looks like you have moved the site to tomscarcarecenter.com. I’ve checked the new site with Zenu, freeware link checker, and it does well. So it looks like the problem is fixed.

    Your theme Flatsome is now at version 2.0.5 and you have version 1.9.9.5. If updating best to take a backup first.
