Home page is not loading correctly

  • Hi all. My website is not loading correctly. Whenever I click on my website address, it is showing the latest post(“bamboo shoots” post) which it’s not suppose to be. I want it is showing the home page when people click on my site.

    I cleared the cache, I tried to adjust the Static page, I also reached out the hosting company, nobody can fix the issue. Can anyone help please? Thanks a lot.

    What exactly do you mean? What did you do and what happened?

    And what do you have configured as your homepage in SETTINGS => READING => YOUR HOMEPAGE DISPLAYS AS? It should be set to “A Static Page” and your static page selected under “Homepage”.

    I set to “A Static Page” and my static page selected under “Homepage”. Nothing happen, when I clicked the website address, it is still not showing the home page.

    What I really wanted to find out is if it’s STILL CURRENTLY set as “Static” or if the setting has automatically reverted to posts. Asking because the public site’s HTML code shows the setting to be Posts.

    If the setting is still “Static Page”, then there may be a theme issue. If I remember correctly, Genesis (and its child themes) has a specific configuration to use a normal page as the homepage.

    I’ll suggest you temporarily switch themes to see if this solves the issue… then we’ll know where to focus.

    The setting has automatically reverted to posts.Right now, “showing latest post” is checked.

    I guess I can try to switch theme tomorrow. Or should I just contact the theme provider? Thanks

    That was going to be my recommendation (since this is a commercial theme) after confirming it’s a theme problem.

    But, yeah, you can contact them now.

    Since you use a commercial theme or plugin and need support, please go to their official support channel. In order to be good stewards of the WordPress community, and encourage innovation and progress, we feel it’s important to direct people to those official locations.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. This is one other reason why volunteers forward you to the commercial product’s vendors. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product.
