Home Page is not displayed correctly

  • Hello forum. Happy new year to all.

    I run a news site in Bengali, using custom theme :www.desherkhobor.net. I upgraded WordPress to 4.4 and perhaps it caused a fatal error. The content area was gone. The front page would displayed some category posts, five post in each category, I used to displayed 4-5 category posts with thumbnail photo and post teaser after the title (top news, district news, sports etc). I realized these parts were under Block 2.

    A friend helped me to display about latest 12 posts on the front page, but he was unable to rescue the original behavior of the front page. According to him, the function.php file is not responding correctly.

    So, I am looking someone in the forum who can help me to troubleshoot the problem.

    Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins and testing again?

    You may try to enable the WP Debug mode to see if there are any errors.

    It is possible that your theme is very old and using some deprecated methods that are no longer compatible with WordPress 4.4

    Thanks WPHelpout. I deactivated all the plugins, it did not work. Also, downgraded WP version, but it was a failed attempt too.

    My knowledge on WordPress is too little for which I myself do not want to try advance things, that’s why I am seeking step by step help.

    It would be hard to say without a closer look.

    The only other suggestion I have is to ask your hosting provider to restore your site, they should have a backup of the site from a previous date where everything was working.
