• Hi there,
I hope someone can help me.
My homepage on Microsoft Edge is in Greek! (I think). My small online business I have is my livlihood. I am not sure what to do!
I think I say this every post but I am not a web developer in any way, shape or form so if anyone can explain really simply what is wrong and a fix I would be grateful
Other web browsers seems fine (I think Though is there a way to check all easily?)
I don’t know if it useful to know I am using Virtue child theme
    Thank you
    Laura B

  • That’s not Greek…
Your font family is “symbol” :seenoevil:

Please switch to a default (Twenty -) theme to confirm.

Then please contact your theme’s author. You can do so here:

The community there is the best-equipped to help you.

Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry for being a plonker – I had many of the same characters sent in emails last night (one email sent over and over with random pictures of buses) written in the above font family and then a person contacted me to say website in Greek that I thought it was…! x Okay I will do.

I switched to Twenty theme, it is still in the seenoevil (switched back to Virtue theme) heading over to theme help now. Thanks again.

Right click on the title (the one that looks Greek that is in bold).
    Choose Inspect Element.
You will see a window pop up.
In the window, it will show you the English.
Just above that, it has the font size and the font family (being “symbol”).

Try disabling all of your plugins and re-activating them one by one.

Remember that you need to clear your browser’s cache BEFORE checking.

    Carike,
Thank you so much for your help.
I actually had a bit of a (rare) lightbulb moment – I thought maybe I should try to switch fonts and have a look. It worked. Now my pics don’t show (Typical!) only on edge browser I think/hope. I have put this in the forum you linked to so am hoping for a reply.
Thanks again, I do appreciate it.
    x
